Jakarta, 25 November 2023 - Garudafood through one of its brands, i.e. Kacang Garuda, has consistently supported the coaching and development of young Indonesian soccer players since 2015 through Liga Kompas Kacang Garuda U-14.
The soccer championship has entered its 11th season and was officially opened by Fransiskus Johny Soegiarto (Director of PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk), Zainudin Amali (Deputy General Chair of PSSI), and Andi Prinantyo (Managing Editor of Kompas) in Jakarta (25/11).
“Many superior young talents arise from every season of Liga Kompas Kacang Garuda. "We are proud to once again take part in this competition which benefits the younger generation in identifying and developing their talents in soccer," said Fransiskus Johny Soegiarto.
Andi Prinantyo, Managing Editor of Kompas, said that Liga Kompas Kacang Garuda U-14 is part of Kompas' contribution to the development of soccer in Indonesia.
"Kompas hopes that the values instilled, such as respect for opposing players and coaches, as well as discipline in obeying the rules, will serve as the basis for achieving our vision for this league, i.e. educating people through soccer," explained Andi Prinantyo.
Zainudin Amali, Deputy General Chair of PSSI, who also attended the opening ceremony gave appreciation for Liga Kompas Kacang Garuda U-14.
"PSSI is happy that community groups and business groups have the initiative to support soccer in the country through Liga Kompas Kacang Garuda U-14. "I advise players to remain focused and consistent during the match," said Zainudin Amali.
In this new season, Liga Kompas Kacang Garuda presented a breakthrough by involving sports psychologists, to provide mental support for the young soccer players - in addition to the technical support. The psychologist will monitor if the player's or team's performance is declining.
Liga Kompas Kacang Garuda U-14 started the playoffs on 29 October 2023 and a total of 16 Soccer Schools (SSB) from the Jabodetabek area are participating. The Liga Kompas Kacang Garuda matches will take place over 15 weeks and will end in March 2024.
As the main sponsor, Kacang Garuda with its slogan "Jangan Nonton Bola Tanpa Kacang Garuda" will support young talents in developing their talents and achieving their dreams. Liga Kompas Kacang Garuda aims to produce outstanding athletes who can pursue professional careers both at the national and international levels.
