Garudafood's Response to COVID-19 in the Workplace

Jakarta, March 17, 2020 – The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially declared that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become a global pandemic. As a follow-up, PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk (“Garudafood”) has carried out various efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the workplace. This has been disseminated to all employees of the Garudafood head office and business units since the end of February 2020.

Paulus Tedjosutikno, Director of Garudafood, emphasized that the Company is operating normally. He further explained that the preventive efforts disseminated included improving hygiene and providing sanitation hygiene equipment.

"We have prepared a number of preventive steps for employees, such as measuring their temperatures before entering the workplace, providing hand sanitizers at several points, spraying the office building with disinfectant, and instruction to maintain their health by diligently washing hands using soap and running water," explained Paulus Tedjosutikno (17/3).

Furthermore, Garudafood also urged all employees to implement social distancing, by limiting face-to-face interactions and keeping a distance from everyone.

Paulus added, “We have started to limit business trips for all employees, reduce large gatherings and also limit the number of guests, especially Foreign Citizens. We invite employees to use the digital technology facilities that have been provided to be able to stay coordinated and productive at work. We are also collecting data on the number of employees who live in Bekasi and Bogor to provide company transportation facilities to minimize the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19)”

In addition, active dissemination continues to be carried out to all employees through the internal communication media related to the coronavirus (COVID-19), such as the health protocols stipulated by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, calling for a healthy lifestyle and procedures for preventing the spread of the coronavirus in the workplace.
