Malang, 15 October 2021 - Johannes Setiadharma as the Director of Garudafood gave 130 annual subscriptions to Kompas.id for Interdiocesan Seminary San Giovanni XXIII Malang during the Garudafood’s Webinar: Supporting Digital Literacy and Quality Journalism on Friday, 15 October 2021.
In the ceremony, account subscriptions were symbolically given by Johannes Setiadharma as the Director of Garudafood to Father Gregorius Tri Wardoyo, CM Rector of Interdiocesan Seminary San Giovanni XXIII Malang. On that occasion, a digital literacy discussion was also held with the topic "Abundant Information, Filtering Hoaxes, and Fake News" which was brought by Haryo Damardono (Vice Managing Editor of Harian Kompas). The discussion reminded us about the role of the private sector, universities, and the media in using social media more wisely.
Digital literacy refers to the knowledge and skills to use digital media, communication tools, or networks in finding, evaluating, using, creating and utilizing information in a sound, wise, intelligent, careful, accurate, and law-abiding manner to foster communication and interaction in daily life.
Garudafood Supports Quality Journalism is one of Garudafood's CSR programs through collaboration with Kompas.Id by giving 1,000 annual account subscriptions to Kompas.id for lecturers or students in 6 universities as well as internal employees of the Garudafood Group. The ceremonial handover of this assistance will be done through 6 webinars, which will be held on a weekly basis in October - November 2021 at each University.
