The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has spread in Indonesia since early March 2020 and there have been 252,923 positive cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia, with 184,298 patients recovering and 9,837 deaths (*data as of 22 September 2020).
One of the government's efforts to end the spread of the virus and flatten the curve in terms of new daily cases is implementing Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in a number of areas of Indonesia. This policy, in addition to limiting public mobility in their activities, also has an indirect impact on the public economy due to the strict rules applied by the Local Government.
However, we should be grateful that PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk (Garudafood), as the leading food and beverage company in Indonesia and its distributor, PT Sinarniaga Sejahtera (SNS), is still permitted by the Central Government to continue operating to this day.
As a sign of gratitude and to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Garudafood and the 26th Anniversary of SNS, Garudafood once again gave donations in the form of 370 packages of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) containing masks, vitamins, hand sanitizers as well as Garudafood food & beverage products to the surrounding community of the head office, in cooperation with village heads, Head of RT and Head of RW to coordinate the distribution as well as the medical personnel and transporters in the Garudafood factory area.
In addition, coinciding with the National Customer Day (4/9/2020), Garudafood and SNS also greeted their loyal customers throughout Indonesia by giving appreciation in the form of 6,500 PPE packages containing masks and hand sanitizers.
To date, Garudafood has distributed more than 42,000 cartons of products to communities directly affected by COVID-19, such as volunteers and medical personnel, online motorcycle taxis, taxi drivers, scavenger communities, orphanages, nursing homes, and communities around the Garudafood HO, Depo, and factory.
We would like to extend our thanks to the management of Garudafood, shareholders, HO, Depo, and Factory colleagues who have donated and worked hard in preparing and distributing the food packages whilst applying strict health protocols.
Let's remain optimistic and obey government rules to always apply the 3 M; Wear a mask, keep your distance and wash your hands with soap under running water.
